Maeve Haran is an Oxford Law graduate who worked in journalism and television before writing her first novel, Having It All, a worldwide bestseller translated into 26 languages, and turned into a miniseries in Korea! She wrote eight more contemporary novels, one work of non-fiction, The Froth on the Cappuccino, extolling life's small pleasures and three years ago began to write historical fiction. Her first historical novel, The Lady and the Poet dramatized the forbidden love affair between the poet John Donne and Ann More, the niece of the Keeper of the Great Seal. The critic AN Wilson wrote that the novel brought the 'elusive, sexy figure of Donne' wonderfully to life.
She has three children and lives in North London.
